LATEST NEWS PREVIOUS ITEMS _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ News RELEASE: FILLED POLYURETHANE MSE has recently developed a new process that allows additive materials to be blended into a polyurethane matrix. Traditionally the addition of fillers to a polyurethane product has only been possible by sourcing from the urethane supplier in a pre-blended raw material. While useful for some filler materials, it limits the use of a great many more, hence the range of end products possible. MSE’s innovative process enables them to greatly expand the choice of filler material and thus material property range of polyurethane required for a multitude of potential products. Not only does this allow polyurethane to be considered for new products and applications, it creates opportunities for the redesign of existing products based on a new material and process options. MSE’s Filled Polyurethane involves the introduction of solids or liquids as discrete particles, including recycled additives, into the polyurethane prior to curing which, upon curing, enhances the material properties. Over the past two years, through internally conducted R&D, MSE has developed a process and equipment for extending polyurethane using additive particles through controlling of blending and particle distribution. MSE now has the capability of designing a material for a specific application in terms of the following properties:
This achievement provides MSE the opportunity to:
